I’m a physician, health tech and life sciences advisor, & founder of a boutique healthcare, life sciences, & investment advisory practice.
My background includes: scientific research, 16 years of clinical experience, a healthcare management degree with a focus on healthcare technology, media experience, and consulting work for healthcare startups. I have written articles for various media publications, including TechCrunch, MedTech Boston, and Healthegy, on the subjects of healthcare, digital health, biotech/pharma, startups, and healthcare venture capital investments, and I frequently take public speaking engagements on these topics as well.
Currently, I’m a medical advisor to an early-stage women’s health startup, Confi, and a consultant for another startup, Commense (a PureTech Health company), which is working on developing microbiome therapies for early childhood. I am also part of the organizing team for Capital W- The Boston Women’s Venture Summit, which aims to increase venture funding for women-led startups. I enjoy helping entrepreneurs with worthy ideas succeed & hope to be a growing resource to the startup community.
My educational background includes a bachelor of arts degree from Boston University, a medical degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School, residency training in Ob/Gyn at Northwell Health in NY, and a master’s degree in healthcare leadership from Brown University. My thesis project during my master’s studies was focused on healthcare technology, in particular the challenge of achieving interoperability of electronic health records. My clinical practice has been in Massachusetts at hospitals within the Steward Healthcare and UMass Memorial Healthcare networks.
I am an avid follower of healthcare & medical innovations, healthcare startups and investing, women’s health and leadership, and enjoy writing/blogging on all of the above.
My personal interests include travel, modern art, yoga/fitness, & meditation. Of late, I’ve also unfortunately become a political junkie.
