The latest installation at the ArtHub Gallery is up! This is the first time I’ve framed my paintings, fun to see them looking a bit more polished. All the works at the ArtHub are for sale with a portion benefiting the Nashua Area Artists’ Association. Click here if interested.

Selfie in Santa Fe

First portrait / self-portrait… It took 7 (!) sessions to get to this, and they were all really terrifying versions! I wasn’t sure I could get to something decent, so I am really happy with this.
Tomato the Cat

It’s my niece’s 9th birthday tomorrow 💕 so I made her a petite portrait of her cat Tomato
Hiro at Salisbury Beach

I liked the sketch I made of my pup so decided to make the painting. This was from a photo taken at Salisbury Beach. I used a limited palette with only 5 colors: burnt umber, French ultramarine, cadmium red, cadmium yellow, and titanium white.
Still Life with Bust

I think I’m going to start painting on bigger canvases for certain subjects. It was a bit of torture painting all these objects on a 16″ x 20″ canvas …felt like I was painting in miniature.
Cherries

Believe it or not, it was the ramekin that was most difficult to paint. The cherries and tablecloth were a lot easier and much more fun.
Skull and Roses

I love Mexican art with skulls and paintings with a “memento mori” theme, so I bought myself a replica skull (and some silk roses) from Etsy to paint. This was done faster than usual for me…I think I’m finally figuring out how to paint flowers.
Living Room

Spending more time at home, so I figured I may as well paint it. I loved making all the tiny things, especially the little paintings.
Toad

Saw this handsome guy on a walk and the kids begged me to paint him 🙂
Still Life with Buddha

I set up this still life because I’ve read that painting sculpture can help you learn to paint portraits and figures. Will be doing more of this before trying to paint an actual person.
